Meals on Wheels for Pets

In accordance with our mission, we at Donner Creek are establishing the first Niagara County Meals on Wheels for Pets program!

According to the Niagara County Nutritional Program that manages Meals on Wheels, 380 daily meals are currently served in our community.  However, this falls short of meeting the needs of their cherished pets. Meals on Wheels recipients often share their meals with their beloved pet, but this selfless act actually means that both receive less.  Our goal in establishing Niagara County's first Meals on Wheels for Pets program is to provide quality nutritious meals for their furry friends, thus enabling everyone in the home to receive proper meals every day.

Meals on Wheels for Pets

100% of all donations to Meals on Wheels for Pets will be used to purchase quality food from our suppliers.

We at Donner Creek are dedicated to the health and well-being of all family pets and will continue to do our utmost to preserve the success of Meals on Wheels for Pets of Niagara County! Donations are gratefully accepted!

The First Niagara County Meals on Wheels for Pets Program has Begun!

Donner Creek has had the privilege of initiating this pet food distribution program!  Starting March 7, 2012, Home-Delivered Meal (HDM) recipients with pets can now also receive quality food for their cats and dogs!  With assistance from the Office for the Aging and their volunteers, a week's worth of pet food will be delivered with their own meals to HDM clients in the following areas weekly: Lockport, Newfane, Gasport, Wilson, Barker, Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda and Ransomville.  Currently over 50 pets are fed with this program and we hope to expand into other areas of Niagara County as donations (monetary and food) make it possible.  Anyone living in those areas interested in receiving meals is urged to contact Home Delivered Meals at 438-4031.

Volunteers are always needed. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community as well as make new social contacts.  For any students who need college credit for internships or volunteer hours please call 438-4031.

Donations of quality dog and cat food gratefully accepted at Donner Creek!

Thank you for making a difference to those in need!
